Maatraan 90% Shooting Over !

Surya’s Maatraan directed by KV Anand shooting is almost 90% over and nnly some songs are left to be shot. Maatraan is an big budget extravaganza action thriller and it will be Surya’s costliest film till date.

Maatraan is expected to be released by June by this year. Maatraan has usend Performance capture technology for action scenes which is in par with Hollywood Avatar movie.

KV Anand’s Suriya’s action packed thriller Maatran shoot is almost 90% complete, except for a few songs. The big budget extravaganza said to be Suriya’s costliest film is getting ready for a June/July release.

Maatran is making news as it  promises to be one of the slickest films in recent times. Anand has used Performance capture technology for some action scenes.

However Anand when it comes to songs believes in old fashioned romantic melodies. His combination with Harris Jayaraj has always worked wonders and the pair is now on a hat trick after chartbusters like Ayan and Ko.

Last week, Anand was back in his favourite location near Pune for the shoot of a romantic number which was picturised on Suriya and Kajal. The cameraman turned director loves Wai near Pune comprising of Mahabaleshwar, Dhom lake, Krishna river and valley one of the prettiest places in India.

This location first caught the attention of Kollywood when Superstar Rajinikanth’s Shankar directed Sivaji’s opening song “Balleilakka…” was shot in the Wai area.

Remember, Anand who was the cinematographer of the film and appeared for a brief moment in the song, had lensed it beautifully

Singam Part 2 in Foreign Locations !

The film Singam had Surya, Anushka and Vivek in the cast turned out to be a super hit.
Only the song sequences in Hari films will be shot in foreign locations but for the first time the song sequences and the climax sequences are to be shot in South Africa and Nigeria. It is understood that Singam 2 will take one more step forward in his career.

Surya received 40 million SMS?

Surya now joins the club of actors who hosted similar game shows in the past such as Amitabh Bachan and Shahrukh Khan and Vijay TV must thank Surya for accepting the chance as he is starting his small screen career at this young age while being a busy and most sought-after actor both in kollywood and tollywood. Though the show is in its fledgling stages the amount ...of interest it has created among audiences is huge while the price and salary details do not seem to be small. According to a source, who does not want to be named, the channel has already spent 10 crores (100 million) of indian rupees towards Surya's remuneration purposes alone and much more for sets and promotions. But the return, it is reliably learnt from the same source, is way too huge as the channel received 4 crores (40 million) of SMSs for a question that was asked by Surya during the show. As Rs. 5 is charged per a SMS it comes to 20 crores (200 million) of indian rupees. As Surya is sure to ask at least a question per week, the amount of moolah that this TV show is going to generate is mind boggling and out of reach for an ordinary citizen. After hearing this one can only wonder as to who would be hugely benefited from the show Surya? or Vijay TV? or common man?. Answer is a million dollar question itself!.

"I’ll Dub My Own Films" !! - Says Surya !!

Actor Surya recently announced at a press conference at Film City that he will personally dub his film. He was in the city to shoot some breathtaking action sequences with ace stunt master Peter Heins.

“The action sequences will be mind blowing,” he said. Elaborating on his decision to lend his voice to the Telugu version of Matraan he says, “It’s an author-backed role wit...h multiple shades and demands special diction and style, so I don’t want to take chances.” However, his brother and actor Karthi, has already dubbed his Telugu films such as Awara.

“I am confident of beating him,” he says. In fact, the K-town star has expanded his fan base in Andhra Pradesh and is next only to Rajinikanth in popularity. After hits like Yamudu, his last release 7th Sense, also recorded good collections of more than `13 crore. “I am thankful to the Telugu audience for showering me with so much love on me and I’ll live up to expectations again,” he says.

He denied reports that the title of the Telugu version Duplicate. “We haven’t decided the title yet, since we are looking for an appropriate title,” he said. He describes his pretty co– star, Kajal as “professional and very talented”, and expressed working with cinematographer and director, K.V. Anand as a “wonderful experience”. Speaking about promoting the film on their own he says, “We were not happy with some earlier producers, so we thought of teaming up with producer, Bellamkonda Suresh, to promote this big ticket entertainer in Andhra Pradesh.”

Surya’s Maatran’s Telugu version titled Duplicate !

The big budget Tamil film Maatran, starring Surya and Kajal Agarwal, has been given the title Duplicate for its Telugu version.
The Telugu dubbing rights have been bagged by Bellamkonda Suresh.
Maatran has been directed by KV Anand and has been filmed at various locations around the world, including Russia, and has been made on a lavish scale. Music for the film has been composed by Harris Jayaraj.
Duplicate is expected to release during the summer vacations.

Taapsee Pannu opposite Suriya?

rumors cropped up that she would be the
heroine of Suriya's forthcoming film, which
... is to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. "I don't
know who has spread these rumors," she
says.
"As of now, I have not signed the project.
And no one has even talked to me about it.
But I have been flooded with phone calls
and messages, repeatedly asking when I am
going to start shooting with Suriya," says
the 'Aadukalam' girl.
Currently busy with her Hindi debut,
Taapsee, who is equally popular in
Tollywood too, says she will be happy to
sign new Tamil projects from March. "The
response to Aadukalam was amazing. I am
eager to sign a Tamil film," she says.
The actress recalls that she missed out an
offer to act with Suriya earlier, as she could
not allot her dates then. "But this time I
would not leave the opportunity if I am
approached to share the screen space with
him," she signs off.

The latest buzz is that Surya will be getting Rs 50 lakhs per show. The makers of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi have planned for 40 episodes, which means they are shelling out Rs 20 crore to the actor as the remuneration. As of now, eight episodes of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi have been shot..
